Man Utd identify France star as better transfer option than Osimhen this summer

Manchester United are reportedly leading the race to sign Randal Kolo Muani ahead of Bayern Munich this summer window. 

 Erik ten Hag has made signing a new striker his priority ahead of the summer with the Eintracht Frankfurt forward among the names under consideration. 

Harry Kane is said to be the club’s top target but United have no intention of entering a lengthy transfer saga with Spurs chairman Daniel Levy, with Tottenham adamant he will not be sold. 

Muani, who has scored 20 goals in 40 games this campaign, is another option with Sky Germany reporting he is a target United ‘rank higher’ than Victor Osimhen. 

 Bayern Munich have opened discussions with Muani’s representatives over a move to keep him in the Bundesliga, negotiations which have been described as ‘very positive’. 

 The German side are seeking a new central striker themselves after Robert Lewandowski’s transfer move to Barcelona last summer. 

But the report claims it is the Red Devils who are currently pushing hardest to sign the Frenchman. 

Muani impressed at the World Cup in Qatar last year with PSG also linked with a move – interest reportedly driven by Kylian Mbappe who is eager to link up with his countryman in France. 

 Frankfurt however are looking for a big fee for their prized asset, with L’Equipe claiming the German team are looking for a €100m (£89m) fee.

Muani is yet to make any decision over his future with no agreements in place. 

 ‘I think everyone knows, it’s not a secret that we in the long term and over the whole season have a shortage of number nines,’ ten Hag said of United’s striker plans. 

 'You can approach it in many ways. A typical number nine, (or) Rashford can also play very good as a number nine. Anthony Martial is a great number nine. 

 ‘So we have players who can play in that role, but definitely we need some offensive players who are really impact players, quality players who improve the front line.’
