Man Utd to axe six players this summer with Sancho & McTominay in the firing line

Manchester United could be set for a huge overhaul in the summer as Erik ten Hag lays down the law to some of his underperforming players.

The Dutchman was unhappy with his team after they were beaten 2-0 at Newcastle and told his United stars they are "in the wrong place" if they do not have the hunger to succeed.

United face Brentford on Wednesday as they look to bounce back from another away defeat against a top half side - and it feels like a big game in defining where the Red Devils finish this campaign.

Ten Hag's side currently sit fifth, level on points with fourth-place Tottenham but will leap above Spurs in the table should they not lose against Brentford, who had a 4-0 victory in the reverse fixture in August.

There has been a major improvement since that humiliation, but Ten Hag wants more. The manager was frustrated with a number of his players after the Newcastle loss and it could spark changes at the end of the season.

Someone that could be sold is Jadon Sancho . The England star has struggled to play regularly so far this campaign and Ten Hag is starting to grow impatient with the winger.

Sancho hasn't made the needed impact since coming back into the team after a three-month exodus, having scored just twice in 12 games.

According to the Manchester Evening News, Ten Hag is irritated with Sancho's progress and wants more from him as his future is now placed at risk.

Meanwhile, Scott McTominay is another player that could be shown the exit door. The Scotland star failed to deliver for United when he was handed a start at St James' Park on Sunday.

McTominay has been linked with a move to Newcastle United and it was a chance to show why the Magpies are after him and also why United should keep him in the team.
Phil Jones , however, will leave Mnachester United this summer. He is out of contract and hasn't played a minute for Ten Hag this campaign. Harry Maguire 's time at Old Trafford could also be coming to an end, despite joining for £80m only four years ago.

The England defender has fallen behind Martinez and Raphael Varane in the pecking order and has been linked with a return to Leicester in the summer window.

Also, Aaron Wan-Bissaka has been impressive when given the opportunity but doesn't suit Ten Hag's system at the moment and may be offloaded.

Anthony Martial could also be sold in the summer. He has frustrated fans with his injury record and just hasn't been able to stay fit for sustained periods of time, with Wout Weghorst replacing him up front.
