Jack Grealish reacts as Man City look to hijack Arsenal's move for Declan Rice

Jack Grealish has already made his feelings clear on the prospect of Manchester City signing Declan Rice through his activity on social media.

Grealish could see his £100m transfer from Aston Villa to the Etihad in 2021 matched this window with the Premier League champions now in pursuit of West Ham captain Rice.

The Hammers are ready to do business with any buyer that matches their valuation as discussions continue behind the scenes with West Ham.

Arsenal have seen two bids rejected - the latest of which was worth £90m including add-ons - but now Man City are ready to pounce after Ilkay Gundogan chose to join Barcelona on a free transfer.

And yesterday, reports in Italy from transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio claimed City were now close to finding an agreement with West Ham over a deal for the midfielder in a huge blow for Arsenal.
The update was received in celebratory fashion by the most West Ham fans on social media who are now resigned to losing their hero and are frustrated by Arsenal's approach to negotiations having twice offered below their asking price.

Popular West Ham Twitter fan page @WestHam_Central posted a GIF after reading the news, which was titled: "WESTCHESTERRRRRRRRR CITYYYYY".

The GIF featured a series of Man City and West Ham icons and also alluded to the fact both were crowned champions of Europe in different competitions - the Champions League and Conference League - this campaign.

Grealish couldn't resist himself and liked the tweet which is still on his Twitter account, suggesting he is excited by the possibility of teaming up with his close friend if Man City are to get the transfer done.

A numbers of West Ham fans on the platform appear to favour selling Rice to City and they have made it clear they would relish the prospect of London rivals Arsenal missing out on their top transfer target.
The Gunners remain interested and could yet move quickly to up their offer to West Ham's £100m valuation.

Mikel Arteta is keen on Rice and wants to build his team around the England international, who is set to finally wave goodbye to the Hammers after guiding them to their first trophy since 1980.
