Man Utd have already decided their second signing after Mason Mount deal

Manchester United will reportedly go all out to sign a new striker once they’re able to complete Mason Mount deal.

The England international is a key target for Erik ten Hag at Old Trafford. And though Chelsea have rejected two offers from the Red Devils so far, the saga is ongoing.

And United are hopeful of signing Mount. They’re set to make a third offer for the England star, who is keen to move to Old Trafford this summer.

And the Manchester Evening News claim the Red Devils want a deal done swiftly so they can then move on to landing a new striker.

Erik ten Hag would love to land Harry Kane from Tottenham, despite all the complexities involved.

With the 29-year-old deemed too expensive at the moment, however, Man United are open to going for alternatives.

Victor Osimhen is admired, though Serie A giants Napoli have made it clear they’d want a substantial fee to consider letting the player go.

Likewise Atalanta, who are also unwilling to allow leave Rasmus Hojlund without putting up a fight. United are also interested in Goncalo Ramos, with the Portugal international scoring 27 goals across all competitions for Benfica last campaign.

Also Mohammed Kudus and Dusan Vlahovic, of Ajax and Juventus respectively, have been linked to Old Trafford as well.

Meanwhile, Jamie Carragher was recently asked about Mason Mount and his possible transfer move to United.

And the former Liverpool defender expressed a belief that United would be wiser pursuing Declan Rice instead.

"Mason Mount is an upgrade on [Christian] Eriksen in terms of where he plays," Carragher told the Metro.

"Going back to Declan Rice, United are one of the few teams at the top who don’t play 4-3-3. It’s usually two midfielders with Bruno Fernandes.

"Declan Rice and Mason Mount, they are very different players and it shouldn’t be one or the other but when you look at what Manchester United have got right now, I actually think Declan Rice would be a better fit for them. A lot more expensive of course.

"I do think he [Mount] is a good player and I like him, I wanted Liverpool to get him. “Lots of coaches have picked him and like him.

“There is already a good player in there but Declan Rice would suit United more than Mason Mount in terms of how they set up."
